COVID-19 Vaccine Waitlist Now Open to Ages 70 and Older
Our COVID-19 vaccine waitlist is now open for ages 70 years and older. Please refer to the instructions below for how to be added to our waitlist.
If you are 70 years or older, a resident of Jefferson County and are interested in being added to our COVID-19 vaccine waiting list, please fill out the “contact us” section on our web site here: https://www.jchdwv.org/about/contact/
If you do not have access to the internet, please call the Health Department at 304-728-8416 to be added to the waiting list. Due to the high number of phone calls we are receiving, you may have to leave us a message. We are asking that you send your request through our website instead of calling, if possible. If you have already called or emailed the Health Department asking us to add you to the waiting list, you do not need to contact us again. We will contact everyone who sends us a request to let them know they have been added to the list.
We do not know when vaccines will be available for other age groups or for people with underlying conditions. We will continue to update you when we have more vaccine available. All questions about this or any other COVID-19 vaccine questions should be addressed to the State’s vaccine call line: 1-833-734-0965.

Free COVID-19 Testing November 30 thru December 5

As part of Gov. Jim Justice’s initiative to increase testing opportunities for all West Virginians, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, the Jefferson County Health Department, and the West Virginia National Guard are providing FREE testing for COVID-19 at the above locations November 30 – December 5, 2020.
This Testing is available to all individuals in Jefferson County, including asymptomatic individuals. Proof of insurance is NOT required. Attendees should bring identification, such as a driver’s license or proof of address, to help in returning test results. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Testing is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis – no appointment needed. Pre-registration is recommended – creating an account before you go to the testing site will get you tested faster and make it easier for you to access your results.
Results are usually available in 3-4 days via wv.getmycovidresult.com. This is a diagnostic PCR test and will only show if you have a current infection, not if you have previously been infected and recovered.

Contact Tracing – Answer the Call
If you are waiting for a COVID-19 test result, get ready in case someone from the health department calls you to check on your health, discuss who you’ve been around recently, and ask you to stay home to self-isolate if you aren’t doing so already. Cooperating with contact tracers keeps you, your family, and your community safe. Answer the call and help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Free COVID-19 Testing By Appointment 10-30-2020
On Friday, October 30, we will be offering free drive-through COVID-19 testing in the health department parking lot from 1:00-5:00PM. This testing is available to all individuals in Jefferson County, including asymptomatic individuals. Please bring your driver’s license or other proof of address. Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Free COVID-19 Testing 10-18-2020
Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the Eastern Panhandle we will be offering FREE drive-through testing at the Jefferson County Health Department this Sunday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Please bring photo ID or other proof of address. Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Testing will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Results should be available via Q-Labs online patient portal 3-4 days after testing.
