The Jefferson County Health Department was not involved in the approval process for the Rockwool plant under construction in Ranson; nor is there any statutory requirement for the company to obtain local health department plan approval. Please direct your questions, comments and concerns to Mr. Jake Glance at the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, 304-926-0499 ext. 1335. Rockwool Facility Construction

I am concerned that the Rockwool plant is located too close to schools, hospitals, and dense residential housing. The amount of particulate matter that will be released into our clean air also concerns me greatly. Truly, what is the benefit of having an insulation factory in Ranson, WV? Someone has yet to explain why Jefferson County is subsidizing this factory – taxes, roads and the future health implications.
How do you not have a say in this. Your tag line is “protecting public health in Jefferson county” I guess its OK to say this and not really do this.. Having this kind of emissions next to our Children’s school, that is what your saying correct??
You really need to get off your butts and do something.. this is purely disgraceful.. please don’t identify as “public health” and please don’t identify as public health officers….. its kinda like a fire department without a fire engine call them first if there is a fire…. This is about the saddest statement I have ever seen.. you are NOT protecting Jefferson county nor are you protecting our children.. SHAME! no you don’t have to post this..just delete it as you normally would ..
I say nay to all the self-appointed do-gooders who want to fight any and all advancement that tries to take place in Jefferson county. Get the true and honest facts before you start waving banners and erecting signs.
