RABIES ALERT (Kearneysville)
DO NOT TOUCH OR HANDLE WILDLIFE OR STRAY ANIMALS
This is a public health notification that the Jefferson County (WV) Health Department has issued a Rabies Alert for the Dalgo Lane area of Kearneysville.
The West Virginia Office of Laboratory Services has notified our office on July 23, 2019 of a positive test result for the rabies virus from a cat submitted by the Health Department from the Dalgo Lane area of Kearneysville. The cat was a gray and white domestic shorthair adult.

All citizens are also being reminded to make sure your animals are currently vaccinated against rabies and to avoid contact with wildlife or stray animals!
