Well & Septic Information Request Fee- Proposed Increase

As required by §64-51-9 of the Bureau for Public Health Legislative Rule, Health Departments are required to advertise to make the public aware and receive public comment regarding proposed fees for its services.

The Jefferson County Health Department is proposing to increase the well and septic information request fee from $10.00 to $25.00. The increase is necessary to support the staff hours spent on these tasks.

Comments on this proposed fee must be submitted by July 29, 2021 to the address above or emailed to jchdwv.org. Questions may be addressed to Gillian.R.Beach@wv.gov.

Enviromental Fees for Well and Septic Service

  Evaluation of existing onsite sewage system $50.00  
  Evaluation of existing onsite water system $50.00  
  Septic system permit re-issue fee $35.00  
  Request for file information $10.00  
  Individual onsite sewage system application (conventional) $185.00  
  Individual onsite sewage system application (alternative) $375.00  
  Individual onsite water system application $125.00  
  DEP septic tank seal fee
(transferable for existing septic tanks installed)
$30.00  

 

Re-inspection Fee

  Service Provided Fee  
  Follow-up inspection of permitted establishment due to noncompliance or incomplete work $75.00  

 

Plan Review (new or extensively remodeled)

  Service Provided Fee  
  Small establishment (restaurant 25 or less seats, day care center, bed & breakfast, etc.) $125.00  
  Medium establishment (restaurant 25-75 seats hotels 50 rooms or less) $225.00  
  Large establishment (restaurant >75 seats, hotel 50 rooms or more) $325.00
